The New Zealand National
Basketball League is stepping up to help find a cure for
diabetes, they are wearing Lacelets on their shoes during
games. In addition, Lacelets are sold at every game with
the proceeds given to Diabetes Youth NZ. "This is huge
for us," says Diabetes Youth NZ president Adrian Coombes.
"Our goal is to support families and children with
diabetes."
NBL manager Michael Bennington
has this to say, "As an elite sporting competition,
we have an opportunity to send a message to a lot of people.
We're thrilled that we can use our position to help a cause
as worthy as this one."
