New Zealand, Diabetes Youth

Diabetes Youth New Zealand is a group that provides support, educational material and support groups for children with diabetes and their families. When it was time to prepare for the 2006 Diabetes Youth Appeal campaign they wanted something new and exciting that would get people talking about diabetes. While surfing the web for ideas, Kay Longstaff of Diabetes Youth NZ ran across Lacelets and decided to take a big step by making Lacelets the diabetes awareness tool for this years campaign.

Mark Hewlett, Fear Factors International Grand Champion and type 1 diabetic has become the Diabetes Youth NZ's Ambassador and can be seen sporting Lacelets on his shoes.
